Remembering Ava Ann Marie Tabor: A Tragic Loss and the Pursuit of Justice
The unimaginable sorrow of losing a child is a burden no family should bear. The family of Ava Ann Marie Tabor is currently grappling with this profound grief after their vibrant two-year-old daughter was taken from them too soon. In their mourning, they are also calling for justice for Ava.
A Life Full of Joy, Cut Short
Born on November 28, 2022, in Texarkana, Texas, Ava Ann Marie was a radiant light in her family’s life. With her sparkling blue eyes and infectious laughter, she spread joy to all who knew her. Ava loved dancing, assisting in the kitchen, and filling her family home in De Queen, Arkansas, with warmth and love. Her parents, Levi Landon James Tabor and Kylie Marie Perez, treasured every moment with her.
Tragedy struck on March 4, 2025, when Ava suffered fatal injuries under the care of Wesley Davis, a 19-year-old babysitter.
A Parent’s Worst Fear Realized
On that tragic day, Davis was watching Ava in Lockesburg, Arkansas, when he contacted emergency services after she became unresponsive. Subsequent investigations revealed that Davis confessed to physically assaulting her.
Ava was swiftly taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where medical staff labored to save her life. Sadly, she passed away, leaving her family devastated.
A Mother’s Heart-Wrenching Farewell
In a poignant Facebook tribute, Ava’s mother, Kylie Perez, shared her anguish over losing her daughter:
“Our very last time holding our baby… after two years of putting you to bed, making your bottles, playing with you… I will never get to experience that again. No more Ava kisses, no more ‘momma c’mon,’ no more baby loves… WESLEY DAVIS, you took this from me. YOU TOOK MY WORLD. I will not stop until you receive what you deserve. I LOVE YOU, AVA ANN MARIE TABOR. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MOMMY’S BABY. NEVER FORGOTTEN.”
Seeking Justice for Ava
Initially charged with first-degree domestic battery, Davis now faces first-degree murder charges. During a recent court hearing, Judge Bryan Chesshir established his bond at $1 million and enforced a no-contact order prohibiting him from interacting with Ava’s family.
Kylie remains resolute in her quest for justice:
“My baby did not deserve this. And he [Davis] deserves every bad thing that’s coming to him. And I will not stop until he gets it.”
The Community’s Response
Ava’s death has profoundly affected her local community, igniting feelings of anger and sorrow. Sevier County Sheriff Robert Gentry confirmed that there’ve been multiple threats against Davis.
“There have been death threats, and we have had threats of bodily injury and harm to Mr. Davis,” Sheriff Gentry commented.
Authorities are urging the public to allow the judicial process to unfold while ensuring that Davis is held accountable.
A Legacy of Kindness
Amidst their deep sorrow, Ava’s family made the compassionate decision to donate her organs, providing other children with a chance at life. Her legacy of love and kindness will undoubtedly resonate in the lives she has touched.
